Danny Mac

This page honors Paramedic Daniel W. McIntosh of Bensalem Emergency Medical Services.

He died in the line of duty on March 7, 2010 while serving the citizens of Bensalem Township.

On Wednesday, October 11, 2017  at 11:00 a.m. Mayor Joseph V. DiGirolamo along with various first responders and community leaders hosted the official opening and dedication of the Danny Mac Walk.

The Danny Mac Walk consists of 10 exercise stations within Firefighters’ Field in Bensalem to memorialize the ultimate sacrifice of Paramedic Daniel W. McIntosh who died in the line of duty on March 7, 2010.

Danny served our community as a Paramedic for Bensalem Rescue Squad and volunteer firefighter with Nottingham Fire Company. He was also a volunteer firefighter and part time police in other communities within Bucks County.

The Danny Mac Walk encourages physical fitness and encompasses many of the things Danny loved in life. Danny loved children, the emergency services, and serving his community. The Danny Mac Walk gives our community a one-of-a-kind playground and fitness equipment for adults. We hope that this will promote healthy living and prevent heart disease for all members of our community in memory of Dan.

In the spirit of Bensalem’s efforts to work as a team, the funds needed for this project were raised by a group of first responders from Bensalem Rescue Squad, our fire and police departments, and the Bensalem Kiwanis Club who worked diligently with Mayor DiGirolamo, the township council, and many of our department heads in order to make this memorial a reality.
